Leon Hawthorne was founder CEO of the Baby Channel and also CEO of Simply Media's channels and production arm. He has run a total of two satellite channels, three cable channels and ten web TV channels; and he has created web TV channels for clients such as Boot's, Borders and iVillage.co.uk. First and foremost, Leon is a journalist and television producer. He started his career in news and current affairs. He was World News Anchor for CNN in the United States; and a Political Correspondent and member of the Lobby for the BBC in Westminster. He switched to TV management in 2002. Today, he works as a consultant advising publishers on video strategy. He has advised Hearst UK and currently the London Evening Standard, for whom he personally produced the TV coverage of the Evening Standard Theatre Awards 2011 and the British Film Awards 2012. Leon also owns Theatreland TV and Book Zone TV. |
